President Muhammadu Buhari has formally requested for the House of Representative’s confirmation, the appointment of Major General Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
The details were contained in a letter read by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila on resumption from the two weeks break to enable members to participate in the Security Summit and Constitutional Amendment Zonal Public Hearing held across the six geopolitical zones.
A similar letter was transmitted to the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan.
