President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi as the National Librarian and Chief Executive Officer of the National Library of Nigeria.
He has also appointed Prof Musa Garba Maitafsir as Director-General and CEO of the National Teachers Institute (NTI).
Prof Akpama Simon ibor, was also appointed as the new Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education (NMEC).
Director, Press and Public Affairs, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Ben Bem Goong, who conveyed the appointments in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, said this was in
continuation of efforts to strengthen the delivery machinery of programmes in the education sector.
Goong said all the three appointments were with effect from the 2nd of September, 2021 and for an initial tenure of Five (5) Years.
He noted that the President had earlier approved the reappointment of the Registrar/CEO of the Teachers Registration Council Of Nigeria(TRCN), Prof. Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye for a second and final tenure of Five (5) years with effect from August 1, 2021.
Ajiboye has since assumed duties at the Council following the reappointment letter delivered to him personally last week by the Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu, who actually recommended him to the President for reappointment in view of his sterling performance during the first tenure.
The statement further revealed that Prof. Bashir H.Usman has also been reappointed as the Executive Secretary, National Commission For Nomadic Education also for a second and final tenure of Five(5) years.
