The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nana Nandap, has directed all Comptrollers stationed at states and border commands along the Nigeria-Niger Republic border to strictly adhere to President Bola Tinubu’s new order regarding the reopening of the Niger border.
This information was provided in a statement released on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, on Immigration’s X account and signed by Kenneth Kure of the Public Relations Unit.
On Wednesday, Nigeria’s air and land borders with the Republic of Niger were opened under President Bola Tinubu’s direction.

He further ordered the immediate removal of other restrictions imposed on the nation.
The statement titled ‘CGI Nandap Directs Immediate Adherence To Presidential Directive On Niger Border Reopening’, read, “Following the directive from the Federal Government of Nigeria to reopen borders between Nigeria and Niger Republic, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nana Nandap pcc, mmis, fms has issued a directive to all Comptrollers stationed at States and Border Commands along the Nigeria-Niger Republic border, to promptly ensure strict compliance and lift restrictions on human movements.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service assures the public of its unwavering dedication to facilitating safe and orderly border crossings while upholding the integrity and security of Nigeria’s borders.”
