A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Friday granted two men — Mustapha Aree and John Isiga — N250,000 bail each over alleged attempted ATM fraud.
Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaya, who gave the ruling, said the accused should provide two sureties with each as part of the bail condition.
In addition, the sureties should show evidence of tax payments to the Lagos State Government.
Aree, 39, and Isiga, 49, are facing a two-count charge of fraud and unlawful destruction.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Akpan Ikem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Sept.16 at 9.00 a.m. at Ibiye area of Badagry.
Ikem said the Police caught the accused using a fake ATM card on the machine in an attempt to withdraw cash.
“They were arrested and taken to the station for further questioning.”
