THE Baba Adinni of Lagos, Alhaji Sikiru Alabi-Macfoy, has accused some stakeholders in the state of fuelling crisis in the Lagos Central Mosque.
According to Alhaji Alabi-Macfoy, since he defeated the candidate the stakeholders presented to emerge the Baba Adinni of Lagos, they had vowed not to recognise him and to make the mosque’s administration impossible for him.
He stated that several moves made by the individuals to remove him as the Baba Adinni of Lagos were unsuccessful.
Alhaji Alabi-Macfoy accused them of dragging him to various police stations on fictitious allegations.

He said: “Today (Wednesday), I was at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, to honour their invitation. On getting there, I was accused of disrupting a Ramadan lecture organised by the Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaiman Abou-Nolla, at the Central Mosque. I told the officer that I wasn’t at the Central Mosque when the event was held. How would I disrupt such an event? Apparently acting under instruction, my explanation fell on the police’s deaf ears and they decided to charge me to court “ he said.
The court granted Alhaji Alabi-Macfoy bail after he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The matter was adjourned till April 16th.
