Ayade celebrates promotion of indigenes to police next rank

Governor Ben Ayde of Cross River State has lauded the promotion to the next rank of eight senior police officers from the state, describing the feat as “fitting, deserving and proper”.

Ayade also congratulated the eight Cross River indigenes on their promotion and urged them to continue to remain good ambassadors of the state.

In a statement endorsed by Christian Ita,Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, to Ayade, the governor was quoted as expressing optimism that the newly promoted officers would make available at all times their expertise in security towards securing lives and property of Nigerians.

“Our dear state, Cross River has never had it this good in the hierarchy of the Nigerian police. It is heartwarming, and I note with pride the elevation to the next rank in the Nigerian Police, of seven of our sons and daughters-AIG John Abang, AIG Okon Ene, CP Okon Effiong Okon, CP Echeng Echeng, CP Susan Horsford, CP Arop Augustine, CP Patrick Edim and CP Paul Odama.

“I heartily congratulate them and urge them to continue to be good ambassadors of Cross River.

“Having exceptionally displayed uncanny gallantry, dedication, loyalty and discipline in the force, their promotion is fitting, proper and deserving.”

Ayade said he was looking forward to a robust working relationship with the senior police officers and hope that “these our sons and daughter who are ambassadors of our state will join hands with me to ensure that Cross River remains peaceful.”
