Appeal Court verdict: Tambuwal dedicates PDP’s victory to God

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has reacted to the Court of Appeal judgement that returned two People Democratic Party (PDP) members to the National Assembly as duly elected Senator and House of Representatives members.

Tambuwal ascribed the victory of Senator Ibrahim Danbaba and that of Shehu Balarabe Kakale in the Appeal court as duly elected Senator representing Sokoto South and member representing Bodinga/Dange-Shuni/Tureta Federal Constituencies respectively as an act of God.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Sokoto on Tuesday had sacked Senator Representing Sokoto South, Abubakar Tambuwal and Member representing Bodinga/Dange Shuni/Tureta Federal Constituency Aliyu Shuhu both of the All Progressives Congress APC and declared PDP Candidates as winners.

The court also sacked a house of Representatives member representing Sokoto South/Sokoto North Federal Constituency Bala Hassan and ordered reelection in the constituency.

The governor stated this while addressing crowd of PDP supporters who converged at Sokoto Government House to celebrate the victory of the two PDP National Assembly candidates at the appeal Court.

He posited that the entire PDP family in the state are grateful to God the almighty for the victory granted to the party’s candidates and urged them to continue to work hard for the victory of the party at all times.

He expressed optimism that the  PDP will reclaimed all the stolen mandates of its candidates pending in courts.

Tambuwal appealed to the PDP supporters in the state to shun violence and work assiduously towards the attainment of the party’s lofty goals of moving the state forward.

Reacting to his victory Senator-elect for Sokoto South senatorial District Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba described governor Tambuwal as a trustworthy and dependable leader that has the progress of his people always at heart.

He also appealed to the PDP supporters across the state to mobilize more support for the party for its success in all the rerun elections in the state and federal constituency to be conducted by INEC.

On his part, member-elect for Dange Shuni,Bodinga and Tureta federal constituency Dr Balarabe Shehu Kakale attributed their victory to God and excellent leadership of governor Tambuwal.

Dr Kakale appealed to the youths in the state to always be of good behaviour as always being preached by the governor.

The member-elect thanked the entire PDP family in the state  for their persistent prayers for the continuous success of the party.
