
The State chairman of the party, Barr. Emeka Ibe gave the figure in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune correspondent in Awka, the State Capital.
The Chairman who said the Security agencies in the state are intact to ensure hitch-free event confirmed that the leadership of the party in the state had approved the decision of having a peaceful and friendly congress.
A chieftain of the party in the state, Chief Basil Ejidike, who spoke with our correspondent in a telephone interview on the situation report, said the electorate committee of the party has warned aspirants of the various positions against the campaign of calumny and utterances that could hurt their co-contesters in the course of the exercises.
He called for tolerance and unity among supporters, stressing that there is a lot of strength in unity and forgiveness.
“If you don’t get what you want today, you can get it tomorrow,” the Scribe advised, adding that the leadership would ensure a level playground for all contestants.
He then assured that all the concern stakeholders in the state were working hard to ensure a successful Congress.
The state Congress is scheduled to take place at the Prof. Dora Akuyilli Women Development centre Awka.
