Delta State Police Command on Saturday confirmed the abduction of an Anglican priest (names withheld) with his wife, children and one of his friends by suspected herdsmen at Issele-Mkpitime, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya told journalists that the command has launched a search party with a view to rescuing the victims unhurt.
Recall that the pastor of one of the parishes of Celestial Church of Christ, Ibusa near Asaba was shot dead on a Friday night last week by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
Report from the area said the cleric had gone to farm with his family members from where they were taken away.
The wife and children were said to have, however, been released by the hoodlums who also warned them to go and get an unspecified ransom for the release of the cleric and his friend.
Vigilante groups at Issele-Uku and Issele-Mkpitime as well the Police were said to be combing the bush in search of the two men.
