Akeredolu disburses N47.6m car loan to primary school teachers

The Ondo State government had disbursed car loan worth N47.6m to primary school teachers in the state with a one-digit interest refund.

Distributing the cheques to the teachers at the government house in Akure, the state governor,  Rotimi Akeredolu said his government will continue to make lives better for teachers in the state

He explained that the opportunity would be spread across the teachers in the state once the purse of the state is buoyant to accommodate it.

Akeredolu who said this was done to encourage the teachers and teaching profession urging the teachers to keep putting in their best and discourage every form of abuse and corrupt practices.

Akeredolu also disclosed that arrangements have been concluded to employ more teachers in the state as soon as possible.

Commending the governor, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) Mr Sunday Adeleye said the state government deserves an award for giving out the loans, despite the paucity of funds.

He also praised the government’s investments in education, which he said will soon be yielding fruits in the state.

A beneficiary, Mr Willie Famuwagun described the step as the first since the creation of the state in 1976.

Also speaking, the state’s NUT chairman, Comrade Victor Amoko who also commended Governor Akeredolu for the rare privilege encouraged the primary school teachers to maximise the money for better economic advantage and educational advancement.
