Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi

A socio-political group, the Adelabu Collective, has commended renewed effort by the Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi at strengthening security in the state and rid it of brigandage and other criminalities, just as it lauded the appointment of a deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Chief Adebayo Adelabu, as chairman of the recently constituted Security Trust Fund by the state government.

In a statement issued in Ibadan at the weekend and signed by the pro tem coordinator, Mr Ayanshina Ayanlowo, the group observed that the governor Ajimobi administration has achieved a great feat by reclaiming the state from the ignoble wild, Wild West infamy it had sunk over time and returned it to the path of pacesetter as pioneered by the founding fathers, stressing that the re launch of the highly successful state joint security task force, Operation Burst was commendable.

The statement described the choice of Chief Adelabu as chairman of the State Security Trust Fund as most pragmatic, stressing that the governor succeeded in putting a round peg in a round hole.

According to the group, Chief Adelabu who is a scion of the legendary leader of opposition in the defunct Western House of Assembly, Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu family has always lived up to expectation in all corporate and public offices he held and that the people of the state should repose implicit confidence in him to make a brilliant success of the Security Trust Fund.

Observing that security is the greatest challenge facing any society in the world, the group held that Governor Ajimobi has entrusted the very critical aspect of the state to someone appropriately equipped to make the best use of the opportunity to impact on the peace agenda that been flagship of the numerous achievements of the present administration in the last six years.
