The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone Eleven Command, AIG Olanrewaju Yomi Oladimeji, has emphasized the mandate of his zonal command to secure lives and property within its jurisdiction using modern-day policing systems and global best standards and practices.
The AIG made this statement on Monday during his assumption of duty at the zonal command headquarters in Osogbo, Osun State. Zone Eleven comprises the Osun and Oyo state commands.
Highlighting the security policies of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the AIG stated, “Therefore, all officers and men must be disciplined and conform to the laid-down rules and regulations guiding their conduct to avoid running afoul of the laws.”
The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Ayeni, provided a brief history of AIG Oladimeji in a statement. It revealed that he is a graduate of History and Political Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and subsequently pursued law, being called to the bar at Nigeria Law School Kano.
AIG Oladimeji joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1990. He had his first posting to Edo State Police Command, where he acquired knowledge of interrogation, investigation, and prosecution.
