The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) last night announced a five-man fact-finding committee for its Edo state chapter.
A statement signed by its spokesman, Lanre Isa-Onilu disclosed that Kano state governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje will lead the team.
The announcement is coming on the heels of a National Executive Committee meeting expected to hold tomorrow(Friday).
The statement named Honourable Ahmed Wadada as Secretary while Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari; former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi; former governor of Borno State and serving senator, Kashim Shettima would serve as members.
The statement further revealed that the team ” is expected to meet with all disputing interests and present its findings to the party. You would recall that the party took a decision earlier in the week to constitute a committee of prominent party leaders on the lingering crisis in our party in Edo State. ”

Onilu in the statement further noted that the fact-finding committee was part of its “effort to find a lasting solution to the crisis and ensure our party comes out of it even stronger.”
The Edo state chapter of the party has since been polarised into factions.
The faction was loyal to the Edo state governor. Godwin Obaseki and led by Anselm Ojezua last week suspended the state secretary, Mr Lawrence Okah. They also axed the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
But a faction led by Colonel David Imuse and Lawrence Okah, chairman and secretary, respectively claimed it was the authentic leadership of the party in Edo state and announced the removal of Anselm Ojezua as chairman.
They passed a vote of confidence in the national chairman of the party, Comrade Oshiomhole and dismissed his suspension alongside the removal of Mr Okah as State secretary as a nullity.
In their reprisal action, they also announced the suspension of Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, his deputy, Honourable Phillip Shaibu and Secretary to Government, Osarodion Ogie.
The APC NWC in apparent support for the faction led by Colonel David Imuse upheld the suspension of Anselm Ojezua.
