The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has said that agriculture is the only solution to Nigeria’s economic problems.
According to him, if Nigerians have access to food, hardship will reduce and the economy will automatically grow.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele revealed that he doesn’t see the economy getting better anytime soon except that the government provides a lasting solution.
The cleric who had warned against this economic crisis earlier blamed the citizens and government for always ignoring the word of God for frivolous reasons.
He advised the government to work on large-scale mechanised agriculture to reduce the hardship drastically.
‘’The Nigerian economy goes beyond what we are thinking now, it can’t be better anytime soon. I warned Nigerians against voting for APC and I advised the government on how they can salvage the situation of the country but they didn’t listen probably they feel I hate them or I am their enemy.
‘’The point is the government needs to focus more on mechanized agriculture to grow our economy and move ahead from these exchange rate issues. There is serious danger ahead which will lead to heavy protest that will shut down the country. The CBN and economic team are not seeing what I see. This will affect the rich and the poor. The country will continue to borrow money and before we know it, the country had gone into more serious economic trouble.’’
‘’Agriculture is the answer to our economic problems, I have been saying this since the days of Buhari’s administration and if they had listened, we would have resolved the issues since. If there is food everywhere, the hardship will reduce drastically. Subsidy removal isn’t our problem and there is even no way the government will not pay subsidy, the removal is just camouflage, it’s a lie, it has not yet been removed, they are deceiving us,” he opined.
Primate Ayodele further advised the federal government to partner with states with natural and mineral resources to strengthen agriculture.
‘’Except the government does the needful by making use of our natural and mineral resources, partner with states like Delta, Akwa Ibom, Taraba, Zamfara, Nasarawa, Lagos, Rivers and many more for agriculture, I don’t see any turnaround,’’ he added.
