Again, Amotekun seizes over 100 cows in Ondo

Published by

Less than 48 hours after seizing about 100 cows along Ilesha/Akure road, operatives of the Ondo State command of Amotekun Corps, again, on Tuesday, seized over 100 cows in the Ipinsa community in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state for flouting the open grazing law of the state government.

The cows and herders were said to have invaded farmlands in Ipinsa while the people of the area alerted the men of the Amotekun in the Local Government Area when the herders and cows refused to vacate the farms.

Men of the security outfit were said to have responded immediately to safe the situation by arresting the cows but the herders took to their heels immediately sighting the men of the security outfit.

However, the Amotekun operatives arrested the cows and led them to the headquarters of the Amotekun office in Alagbaka, Akure the state capital.

The movement of the cows from Ipinsa to the state capital caused vehicular movement along the Oyemekun/Adesida road to the Alagbaka office of the Amotekun Corps.

Confirming the development, the Commander of Amotekun Corps in the state, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, said the cows were arrested in Ipinsa.

He said he was in an operational area within the state but promised to give details of how the cows were apprehended.

He however said “the cows were seized in Ipinsa after we received a distress call from the people of the community.

“As I speak the cows are being taken to our headquarters but we will brief you on the development later.”
