The political landscape in Adamawa State continues to attract more candidates, especially those vying for National Assembly tickets.
The incumbent governor, Ahamadu Finitiri, has declared his candidacy for the Senate seat in the zone under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement took place in Mubi and drew support from numerous national and state party officials.
In expressing his gratitude, the governor thanked the current senator representing the zone, Senator Amos Yohanna, who purchased the nomination form on his behalf.
He said, “I have served you as governor, I did not disappoint you, I will not disappoint you too for this opportunity given to me”.
Elsewhere, in the Southern senatorial district of Adamawa, the member representing Lamurade/Numan federal constituency, Hon. Laore Kwamoti has thrown his hat into the context of the senatorial seat at the National Assembly under the platform of the ruling APC.
Kwamoti, who was in the state assembly with Finitri, said he sought a chance in the red chamber to help improve the well-being of his people.
The lawmaker will contest with serving member Hon Binos Yearo and the son of the former vice president of Nigeria, Adamu Atiku, if he gets the ticket.

In the Adamawa senatorial central zone, those seeking the ticket for the House of Representatives are growing by the day. The latest entry into the context is Engineer Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad.
Ahmad, who formerly declared his intentions to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency, in his Makama B Ward, Yola South Local Government Area, setting the stage for what will be a keenly contested race between the incumbent representative member Barr Wakili Boya.
Ahmad, former Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, said his positive and impactful projects across several communities, including within the constituency, give him the joy to do more for his people.
Adding that “with my vast experience in public service at the federal level, I am equipped to drive meaningful development at the National Assembly”.
“This is not just about contesting an election; it is about building a constituency where every voice is heard, opportunities are accessible, and development reaches every community,” he said.
“My ambition is a service-driven mission rather than mere political pursuit”, Ahmad stressed the need for transparency, accountability, and sustained engagement between elected officials and constituents.
“My people demand a leader who will listen, act, and deliver. I am ready to bridge the gap between government and the people,” he added.
