Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted an 18-year-old boy from a house on the street overlooking Jibrilla Hotel, Kurape Road, Karshi, a settlement in Nasarawa State near the nation’s capital, Abuja.

According to available information, the kidnappers, numbering about four, had a getaway bike stationed further down Kurape Road. After abducting the boy, three members of the gang took him to the waiting bike, which whisked him away.

The kidnappers called this morning, demanding a ransom of N30 million. The operation bore similarities to a previous incident in the area.

Tribune Online reports that on gunmen, also suspected to be kidnappers, abducted a landlord and father on the same Kurape Road in Karshi on August 29, 2024.

At around 10–11 pm, while it was raining, the kidnappers initiated their attack by boring a hole through the fence of the victim’s house and breaking the window of the master bedroom.

According to neighbors who spoke under anonymity, the gunmen, armed with dangerous weapons, abducted the man. The victim couldn’t alert his neighbors or security agents earlier, as the sound of his generator masked the kidnappers’ presence.

It was also gathered that the kidnappers had poisoned the victim’s dog with a piece of meat thrown over the fence the day before the incident. Their task was further facilitated by tall crops growing on vacant plots of land in the neighborhood, providing cover.

As of the time of filing this report, efforts by the *Nigerian Tribune* to reach the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, for clarification on the matter have been unsuccessful, as he neither responded to messages nor answered calls.
