Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Adebayo Ayorinde, has described the death of Olowu of Owu, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu, as a great loss to the state and the country.
Ayorinde stated this a condolence message to the Dosunmu Royal Family of Owu Kingdom in Abeokuta North LG and the Ogun State Traditional Council and made available to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, Femi Peters.
Ayorinde described the 16-year reign of the first class traditional ruler as one that united Owu sons and daughters, attracted significant development and progress to his people while advancing the Owu Kingdom, adding that this endeared him to his subjects and all.
The statement said: “On behalf of the government and people of Abeokuta North, I convey my deepest condolences to the immediate family of Oba Dosunmu and the entire Owu Kingdom over the huge loss of our highly revered royal father, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu.
“While we would surely miss Kabiyesi’s royal counsels, fatherly guidance and advice, we draw comfort from his deep compassion, a profound sense of wisdom, direction and inspiration to us all.
“I pray the Almighty God grant repose to the soul of the late monarch and grant the Dosunmu Royal Family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
Tribune Online reports that while late Oba Dosunmu joined his ancestors on Sunday, December 12, 2021, after a brief illness, his death was announced by the state government on Tuesday.
