Today is going to be a historical day for a foremost engineer, Margaret Oguntala, as she becomes the first female President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in the 65 years of existence of the association.
Oguntala would become the 34th President of the Association at her investiture at the African Hall of the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The ceremony taking place this morning will feature various programmes, the swearing-in ceremony, the new President’s speech, and other key activities of the association.
As an NSE veteran, Oguntala holds an impressive record, having served the association in various capacities, a three-time Vice-President, with 53 awards to show for it, including the revered NSE Presidential Award.
Nigerian President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and other top government officials are on the guest list for the investiture ceremony.
