THE city of Lagos woke to a rare occurrence a few days ago, an unusual happening in the country’s political scene, where the ‘dog eats dog’ parlance is a common principle that guides the players.
The 60th birthday of ex-governor Akinwumi Ambode some days ago has changed the tune of the usual. To many who had thought the politician would receive the ‘silent treatment’ like in the past were shocked when the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu cleared his table and breezed into the home of his predecessor to celebrate with him.
The governor had earlier in the day conveyed a special message to the Epe-born politician, robing him in sweet words and thanked him profusely for his service to their state.
The celebrant, who was obviously pleased by the visit commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his dedication and his true Lagosian spirit which is rare and distinct.
