36-year-old man embarks on adventure, trekking to Warri from Bauchi to create awareness

Published by
In his quest to serve humanity by drawing the attention of people to God, a Bauchi based 36-year-old man, Godiya Jatau who is a health volunteer worker, has embarked on an adventure by trekking from Bauchi to Warri, Delta State.
The adventurer Godiya Jatau began his journey at exactly 6.00 am on Friday, 1st October telling anxious Journalists that his decision to embark on the journey was to sensitize people that they can get healings and miracles by getting connected to Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministry and Jeremiah Omotosho  Foundation based in Warri, Delta state.
He lamented that people are dying in silence due to inadequate knowledge of where to go for divine intervention because according to him, at periods like what the country is passing through, only divine intervention can do the magic.
The volunteer with Chemonics International, working with Sharp 3 TO3, in Bauchi, with his station being Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH), Bayara said that “This is a passion that I have to trek 1,002 kilometres from Bauchi to Warri, Delta state in a bid to tell the world that there is a place that they can get healing, deliverance and even blessings, and this is Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministry and Jeremiah Omotosho  Foundation.”
Godiya Jatau added that “I want to trek because I feel it will draw attention once they know that somebody is doing this for a reason. I have not trekked up to a distance of five kilometres in my life before but being fit, and knowing why I want to embark on this journey, I am determined to trek.”
He also said that “Along the way, I intend to share papers the people, papers that will introduce and draw the awareness of people to this ministry that is doing a lot to the human race.”
When asked how long it will take him to trek to his destination, he said: “In my own calculation, am looking at a period of about two weeks, but if it lasts longer, even if it takes me months, I am determined to go all through it because it is a mission I don’t want to stop halfway.”
He added that: “People must get liberated from all their problems and I think that will be my contribution to mankind. The ministry is doing a lot and I want people to know about that.
“I am not a Pastor there, but I am a partner with them. I am from Gwarangah village of Bogoro local government area of Bauchi state, I live and work here. I am a partner and there is a token I pay into the ministry’s account every month,” he explained.
He stressed that “I want people to know because a lot of people are getting saved, in fact, sole only touch the screen of their television and they get their healing.”
Godiya Jatau who said he is married to his wife working in Adamawa state while his son is a soldier working in Maiduguri further said that, “I told my wife but although she was not too comfortable with that she allowed me to get on because she has seen how determined I am about my mission.”
He explained that “I have decided not to tell people about it so that nobody will kill that vision by discouraging me. Once in a lifetime, let me help people. This will sound crazy to some people that will hear about it but they should see the reason why I am doing this.”
According to him, “When I get there, I am sure the Mercy TV crew will want to interview me on why I embarked on this journey and I will still tell the same thing. I will go on foot by my return will not still be this way, I will not trek back.”
He further said that his greatest message to people is that they don’t have to suffer in silence and allow situations to weigh them down.
According to him, “every day I sit in my bedroom and I see miracles happening to people and I weep whenever I see these mind-blowing miracles but people are suffering. I work at a hospital and every day I see people with cancerous wounds and broken bones and they don’t know what to do. And because of religion, you can’t just talk to people anyhow.”
He stressed that “People must not go there physically, they can sit in their homes and get their healing and miracles. I chose to travel today because it’s Nigeria’s Independence and it is a significant day and I intend to use that day for this sacrifice.”
Godiya Jatau further said that “I must also point out that there is a programme coming up from 14th – 17th October, called Surrounding Waters, I will like to walk into that programmed from Bauchi and it will be my joy to walk into that programme.”
Asked how he intend to travel with all the security challenges in the country, he said, “yes, security is paramount too but I look at God as the Chief security. I will walk only during the day and whenever I get to a town and it is evening, I will sleep there and continue the next day.
The adventurer declared that “I don’t mind where I sleep but it must be a safe place. I’ll also observe all curfew or any protocol set up in all the states I’ll be passing through.”
Godiya Jatau emphasized that he is not doing it for any gains nor for cheap popularity but for the fulfilment of his long dreams and for humanity expressing confidence that he will go and come back safely.
