THREE youths including a young Itsekiri man of about 35 years old has been shot dead in Warri, Delta State by irate personnel of the Nigerian Navy
The Itsekiri youth, simply identified as as Agbolu, was allegedly killed at the Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company’s (WRPC) Jetty at the yard of Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) at Ifiekporo in Warri South Local Government Area.
The gun-totting naval personnel who went berserk was said to have been attached to the oil and gas outfit.
Agbolu is the Ifiekporo Community liaison Officer, CLO to A&E Petrol station.
He was allegedly shot dead at about 3:00p.m today, when he and some Ifiekporo indigenes allegedly failed to reach a compromise with an Ekpan-born contractor who was given a job to repair the failed jetty.
As of the time of filing this report, youths were mobilising to launch attacks on any naval personnel in sight.
The naval authorities were also mobilising personnel to quell any uprising.
