…cite policy gains in youth empowerment, education, job facilitation

Youth and student leaders across Akoko North East and Akoko North West Federal Constituency have declared support for the re-election of Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, saying their position is based on a clear policy assessment of his performance in office.

The youths and students said their endorsement reflects a policy direction centred on youth empowerment, education support, employment facilitation, and legislative responsiveness, which they noted have been evident since Ehindero assumed office in the House of Representatives.

Speaking during a solidarity walk in Ikare-Akoko, the convener of the rally, Seun Aruwajoye, said the decision to publicly back the lawmaker was informed by what he described as policy-driven representation that directly impacts constituents, especially young people.

Aruwajoye said the lawmaker’s interventions in job facilitation, scholarships, and empowerment programmes formed the basis of their support.

The President of Akoko North East Youth Forum, Comrade Raji Kazeem, said the constituency must consolidate ongoing gains through continuity, stressing that governance should be evaluated based on outcomes rather than political experimentation.

“We are guided by a simple policy reality—sustaining progress requires continuity. The achievements recorded so far in youth inclusion and social investment must not be interrupted,” he said.

Similarly, Comrade Ademoye Emmanuel, President of Akoko North West Youth Forum, described Ehindero’s representation as aligned with a youth development policy framework, noting his interventions in employment facilitation and education support.

In the education sector

The Senate President of Akoko Students, Comrade Balogun Tomiwa, highlighted the lawmaker interventions in education before, such as the distribution of free UTME forms, tutorial programmes, and legislative oversight functions on student loan implementation, describing them as consistent with pro-education policy objectives.

Another youth leader, Aiyejuyo Temitayo, said Ehindero’s record includes structured interventions in education infrastructure, scholarships, and empowerment schemes, adding that these align with a broader constituency development agenda focused on human capital growth.

He noted that the construction of classroom blocks and other educational interventions reflect a policy commitment to improving learning conditions across the constituency.

The youths collectively stated that their position was not merely political but anchored on measurable policy outcomes in governance, especially in education advancement, youth empowerment, and employment support.

They reaffirmed continued support for Ehindero, describing his representation as aligned with a development-focused policy direction that should be sustained beyond 2027.

They listed some of the positive policy of the lawmakers to include facilitation of employment opportunities for constituents, provision of scholarships both locally and internationally, educational support initiatives, and youth empowerment programmes.
