In a build-up to presidential primaries to elect a flag bearer for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a group has unfolded its plan to mobilise six million Nigerians to contribute N1,000 each toward the campaign funding of Peter Obi.
The group tagged, Peter Obi Support Network disclosed on Monday in Abuja at a mass rally to support Peter Obi’s presidential aspiration.
The Director of Strategy and Mobilisation for Peter Obi Support Network (POSN), Marcel Ngogbehei who addressed the rally said a sum of N6 BN that would be realized through the process will go a long way to boost the campaign funds of the presidential aspirant.
Ngogbehei said Peter Obi possesses all the good leadership qualities that Nigerians look up to in a President. He said his record as a former Governor of Anambra State has shown that Peter Obi was prudent in governance.
“We need a president who can manage the nation’s economy and the resources and create wealth that would rank Nigeria among the prosperous countries in the world.”
“Peter Obi has also proven that he is a responsible leader that has the capacity to foster national unity and cohesion. He has short and long term plans that focus on citizens, not personal benefits.”
