Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) has fixed February 5, 2022, to conduct the election of all the 21 local government council areas of the state.
Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Aliyu Muhammed Mera while briefing newsmen last night in his Office explained that nomination forms, contact and all other relevant documents in relationship with the elections are to be made through the Secretariat of the Commission.
Hon. Mera explained further that “this is to enable Political parties, stakeholders and the general public to take note and commence all necessary preparation in respect of the coming Council Elections.”
“The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission therefore solicits for the support and cooperation of all stakeholders and the general public towards conducting free, fair, credible and acceptable Local Government Councils General Elections across the State.” He added.
According to the timetable, the campaign by political parties commences by December 23, 2021, to February 4, 2022, publication of names of eligible Candidates is slated for January 21, 2022, the Council elections are February 5, 2022, as the runoff of elections where necessary will hold by February 12, 2022.
