2019 presidency: Youths, students back Duke, Gabam candidacy

Donald Duke and Musa Gabam, SDP presidential and vice presidential candidate

YOUTHS and Students from across states of the country have thrown their weight behind the candidacy of the Presidential Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP), Donald Duke and his Vice, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam ahead of the 2019 Presidential Polls.

National President of National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan, and the Majority Leader, Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) declared jointly in Bauchi, Saturday, that the choice of Duke and Gabam is the real change that Nigerian youths have been struggling and agitating for since 1999 when democracy returned to the country.

The duo stated that, “As youths and Students leaders, we have decided to support this dynamic politicians having painstakingly appraised their past records”.

They jointly added that, “Also based on careful consideration of the present situation of our country with deep concern and well being of our people, we need vibrant, experienced and committed leaders that have the youths and the country at heart. This is the time to call for sacrifice from experienced statesmen and patriot who participated in laying the foundation for our nation building”.

“As youths and students leaders, we believe that the choice of Donald Duke and Musa Gabam is a good one because both of them have the experience to move Nigeria to the next stage of development without rancour or discrimination”, Mohammed Sani said.

“We call on Nigerian youths to vote for Duke and Gabam at the coming presidential election come 2019, under the platform of social Democratic Party (SDP)”, he said.

The youths also said that the Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari has not fulfilled its promises to Nigerians particularly the youths in the last three years declaring that it is time for Nigerian youths to support their fellow youths to climb to the ladder of leadership of the country.

“Our past leaders have the opportunity to lead Nigerians at young age, why is it now they don’t want to give us the chance. It is time for The youths to take over, let us join our hands together to support Duke and Gabam for President and Vice President respectively, together we can do it”, he said.
