NasarawaThe Nasarawa State, New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) chairman, Mr Godwin Bala Ewuga said that the party was fully prepared to wrestle power with other political parties in 2019 polls, expressing that the party has nothing to fear with the calibre of people it has.

Mr Ewuga who made this known to a journalist in Lafia said, NNPP has been strengthening to effectively surmount the hurdles ahead of 2019.

He stressed, “we are equal to the task to face PDP and APC at the federal and state levels in the coming general elections”, where the party will be one of the parties in the state, in particular, to watch due to the calibre of people in the party, he added.

“We are very ready to take the party to another level and to take over power in 2019, and this will be attested in the outcome of next year general election, adding that, “we have the capability and pedigree that will carry NNPP to contest with any political party.”

He maintained, “as far as 2019 election is a concern, APC and PDP are not a threat to us”, and from all indications, NNPP has brighter chances to strongly emerge victorious at the polls.

The NNPP chairman said, with the unfolding events in the state in recent times, they are confident to bridge the political gap, even as strategies to woo more members and supporters to the party was been intensified.

He also added, with the happenings in the country, NNPP is the only party that can deliver Nigeria masses from hardship, hoping that, all things been equal there would be a positive result in the end.

He emphasised that NNPP would provide a roadmap for a new Nigeria, where opportunities would be created to make life more comfortable for all.

“Once NNPP is in government, the issue of corruption, insecurity, impunity, disregard for rule of law and problems Nigeria is faced with will be a thing of the past.

“The only thing that can change the country and save its people from this present hardships is for the people to discontinue the party (APC) that has to impoverish them and slow the pace of economic growth in the country”, he said.

Mr Ewuga, however, dispelled the fear that the party would not make history in next year election, saying that “NNPP is one of the oldest political parties in the country that was registered in 2001 and has been participating in all political processes in the country.

At the moment, he acknowledged that all the positions for election have been filled with aspirants who have picked formed, screened and emerged candidates and are ready for the D-Day.

The NNPP chairman who reiterated their position not to merge with any political party in the state called on voters not to be carried away by the athens of money-bag politicians who only come during election seeking their votes.

While advising electorates to consider the personality and credibility of persons in the contest, he said, any gesture done them now would be at their detriment thereafter.
