Twenty members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ogun State House of Assembly have declared support for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, while also backing the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon O. Adeola.
The lawmakers, under the platform of the Progressive Lawmakers of Ogun House of Assembly, made their position known at a press conference in Abeokuta on Thursday.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the Majority Leader, Hon Yusuf Sheriff, said the endorsement of President Tinubu was based on what he described as progress recorded by the administration over the past three years.
“It is worthy of note that under President Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has witnessed tremendous steps toward economic stabilization, fiscal reforms, and unprecedented infrastructural developments particularly road construction projects connecting major economic corridors nationwide.
“These achievements underscore Mr President’s commitment to repositioning the nation’s economy and strengthening national infrastructure, making him deserving of another term to consolidate on the gains already recorded,” he said.
Sheriff also announced the lawmakers’ support for Senator Solomon O. Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, in his governorship bid.

He described the senator as an experienced lawmaker, noting his contributions in the National Assembly and his involvement in projects and empowerment initiatives within and outside Ogun State.
According to him, Adeola’s background in lawmaking and governance places him in a position to advance the “Igbega Ipinle Ogun” agenda of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The lawmakers also expressed support for Governor Abiodun’s next political step after completing his tenure, stating that his experience in governance would remain relevant in future roles.
“Having successfully steered the affairs of Ogun state and delivered significant developmental strides, Abiodun is well positioned to continue contributing to governance and nation-building at higher levels.
“We reaffirmed our commitment to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pledged continued support for leaders whose vision and track record align with the aspirations of the people of Ogun state and Nigeria,” Sheriff added.
