No fewer than 18 people died in a ghastly motor accident at Birninkudu local government area in January Jigawa State.
Report from the state indicated that the accident occured at around 6:30 am along Birninkudu to Kano road where two Hummer buses have a head-on collision at Malam Alyssa farm about 10 kilometres to Birninkudu town.
Confirming the incident, the Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Lawan Shisu Adam said “today, two 18 seater hummer buses from the opposite direction had a head-on collision, as a result, they went in flames where 12 peoples got burnt beyond recognition.”
The police public relations officer added that “6 people were confirmed dead instantly. Their corpses have been deposited at the federal medical centre, BirninKudu.”
According to him, one person (driver) survived, now in the hospital receiving treatment.
