December is generally known in Nigeria, especially in the entertainment industry, to be filled with a flurry of events. Popularly known as ‘Detty December’, event organisers take turns to serenade fun seekers and bring them closer to their favourite celebrities via concerts among other events.
One of the main events that is greatly anticipated is the ‘Checkmate Lagos’ concert holding on December 7, and which will feature some of the most celebrated entertainers in Nigeria which includes rapper Zlatan, 9ice, comedian, Asiri, DJ Neptune, among others.
Speaking to Nigerian Tribune, a member of organising team said that the event set the tone for others, as they were ticking all the boxes to guarantee a thrilling spectacle.
She said, “Checkmate Lagos will set the pace for other events to follow. We will create a never-ending experience for Lagosians at this event. Yes, we will checkmate Lagos”.
Also speaking, Asiri promised a memorable outing for Checkmate Lagos saying, “I am preparing specially for this event. The audience should get ready for thought-provoking comedy guaranteed to crack ribs”.
The event will hold at Checkmate Lounge at the Oniru private beach and will feature the best in comedy, music and drama.
