Zamfara lawmaker, Ya’u, distributes fertiliser to constituents

The Senator representing Zamfara North senatorial area, Sahabi Ya’u has distributed fertiliser, seeds, chemicals, insecticide and other farm inputs free in his constituents to boost food security.

Speaking during the formal distribution ceremony held at Kaura Namoda local government headquarters, Senator Sahabi Ya’u said the gesture was to support farmers in his constituents to remain more committed to food production in the state.

According to him, all the farm inputs were to be distributed free across the four local government areas of his constituency which included Birnin Magaji, Shinkafi, Zurmi and Kaura Namoda in the state.

Senator Sahabi Ya’u emphasised the need to assist people particularly at this trying period where means of livelihood are hard for the common man.

He explained that farm inputs to be distributed are 4 trucks of fertiliser,150 cartoons of fertilizer chemical,250 bags of high breed maize seeds, 250 high breed rice seeds, chemicals and spraying machines free to constituents.

He charge the beneficiaries to use the farm inputs judiciously to improve on their farm product and yield more results for food security in the state and nation at large.

Senator Sahabi admitted that banditry activities has been the major challenges of farmers in the area, “for long now many farmers have abandoned their farms,but i assure you very soon is going to be history with the effort of security agents in the state, “he said.

On the issue of insecurity, the senator assured that sooner or later it will come to an end,” I’m sure Mr President is doing his best to ensure the protection of lives and property of every citizen.”
