Wife of the chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs Maureen Ofoni, has donated foodstuffs to senior citizens drawn from the 10 wards in the local government area in the spirit of Christmas celebration.
The donation was held at the Uvwie Local Government Area secretariat, last weekend where no fewer than 90 aged men and women drawn from the 10 wards were attended to.
The gesture by the Uvwie chair’s wife was coming barely a day after her husband gave out cash gifts to support 160 underprivileged persons, including the physically challenged to enable them to enjoy the best of the yuletide season.
The gesture was a testament of the passion and commitment of the Ofoni-led administration to the advancement and well-being of residents of the local government area.
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Uvwie Local Government Area, who is also the chairman of all chairmen in Delta State, Efe Okoledo commended Mrs Ofoni for the gesture.
