As part of activities to mark the 2024 Christmas and New Year celebration, the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly (Senate) Abuja, under the Labour Party, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye has distributed a total of seventeen thousand five hundred bags of rice to constituents.

Other items distributed include; cartons of groundnut oil, tin tomatoes, bags of salts, cartons of maggi, and the cash sum of #200 million to all the beneficiaries.

The event took place at his country home, Nsugbe community in Anambra East Local Government Area of the State, on Wednesday, December 25th, 2024.

Speaking during the distribution, Senator Nwoye, said the gesture was part of his measures put in place for the people of the Senatorial district as a way of giving back to them for their love and solidarity.

According to him, “This rice is not for stakeholders and Labour party members alone; but the people at the grassroots, mechanic, tailors, indigenes, and non-indigenes of Anambra North Senatorial zone.

“I will never take your support for granted, and I assure you I will continue to provide leadership for a better Anambra North and the state at large.

The senator admonished Ndi Anambra, Christians, and Nigerians as a whole to promote peace and love during the celebration. He called for the immediate release of Hon Justice Azuka, Labour Party House of Assembly Member, who was recently kidnapped by kidnappers.

He also called on the state governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo to take urgent steps to address the worsening security situation in Anambra State.

The beneficiaries in their unanimous appreciation, assured the Senator of their full support in the next election.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the beneficiaries cut across the seven local government areas; Anambra East, Anambra West, Oyi, Ayamelum, Onitsha North, Onitsha South, and Ogbaru which constitute the Senatorial District.
