The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that a youth-led revolution will sweep through Africa in 20 years, bringing forth a “messiah” from the eastern part of the continent.
In a statement issued on Friday, Ayodele launched a scathing criticism of African leaders, describing them as “visionless, self-centered, and mentally weak.”
Ayodele lamented that African leaders have failed to harness the continent’s abundant resources for development, insisting that their mentality is rooted in corruption and debt.
“African leaders are visionless and not focused because they are weak mentally and physically. They only have a mentality of corruption,” he said.

Using the Democratic Republic of Congo as an example, the cleric accused President Félix Tshisekedi of drifting towards dictatorship by arresting opposition voices, adding that the country has been “enslaved by America.”
According to him, many African nations, including South Africa, DR Congo, Kenya, Niger, and Chad, have what it takes to transform the continent, but selfishness and lack of foresight have left them in perpetual underdevelopment.
Ayodele further warned that Africa would continue to suffer because its leaders “don’t have the fear of God” and often rely on banditry and terrorism as tools of suppression.
“They suppress people who have the interest of the masses because they want to be everything and turn themselves into demi-gods. That is why revolution will come to Africa,” he declared.
The cleric also forecasted persistent terrorism across the region, with new violent groups springing up in Mali, Burundi, Chad, and Burkina Faso before spreading to other African countries.
On economic challenges, Ayodele said the laziness of leaders has led to currency devaluation, poverty, and unemployment, stressing that bad advisers and misplaced priorities have worsened the continent’s woes.
He further cautioned that Africa faces grave food insecurity in the near future.
“Africa will experience famine in 2028, the resources of the continent will be massively hijacked in 2029. If care isn’t taken, we will have money in Africa but will find it difficult to buy agricultural products,” he warned.
Calling out regional and global institutions, the cleric criticized ECOWAS and the United Nations for failing to act decisively to change Africa’s trajectory.
“Why can’t we have nuclear plants? Why are we not united? Why are we divided across the western world and they keep using what we have to develop themselves? Africa is dying gradually and the youths that will rescue Africa (revolution) are coming in 20 years’ time,” Primate Ayodele said.
However, Primate Ayodele expressed hope that a united Africa will eventually emerge, though only after the exit of the present crop of rulers.
