Yoruba film, ‘Inu Ogba’ spotlights life on campus

THE Yoruba language film, ‘Inu Ogba’, translated ‘On Campus’ has been pleasing movie lovers since its premiere on January 15.

It tells the story of Siju, who fights on two fronts – to keep his love with Mofe burning and to expose the conniving forces of corruption on campus. Malaolu (played by Sunkanmi Omobolanle), Jare (played by Adeyemi Adeyemo), Students’ Representative Council Speaker and the Dean of Students hatch a plan, which sets off a string of occurrences.

The film starring: Lateef Adedimeji (as Siju), Sunkanmi Omobolanle (as Malaolu), Jumoke Ajadi (as Mofe) and Taiwo Ibikunle (as Students’ Representative Council Speaker), playing in the lead roles has been remarked as entertaining and educative by its viewers.

“It is the usual Nollywood romantic ‘happily ever after’ drama story with a different twist; though everything still ends happily for everyone, the love triangle takes an unexpected turn away from the established expectations,” said a statement announcing the film’s release.

“What sets the movie apart, is the metaphoric setting within a university campus, which is used to represent the place of youth and exuberances; it is a graphical representation of the period when emotions run amok,” the producer said.
