The former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Saturday led a delegation of friends and well-wishers on a condolence visit to the family of veteran Nigerian broadcaster and media practitioner, Dr Tom Adaba, who recently passed away.
According to his media aide, Michael Ozigi Ohaire, Bello and his delegation visited the Gaduwa Estate home of the late broadcaster, where they sympathised with Adaba’s widow, children, and extended family.
Bello described Adaba’s passing as a great loss, not only to Kogi State but to the entire nation, given his immense contributions to the media industry.
During the visit, Bello acknowledged Dr Adaba’s legacy of professionalism, integrity, and service to the country. He assured the family that his impact on Nigerian broadcasting would never be forgotten and encouraged them to take comfort in the remarkable life he lived.
Dr Tom Adaba was the pioneer Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and played a key role in shaping Nigeria’s media landscape.
His passing has been widely mourned by colleagues, media professionals, and admirers across the country.
Bello’s visit demonstrated the deep respect and admiration many had for Dr Adaba and his contributions to the nation, ensuring that his legacy would be remembered for generations to come.
