All business outfits linked to South Africa at various locations in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja and its environments were hurriedly shut down on Wednesday over xenophobic attacks of Nigerians and other foreigners in South Africa.
The business outfits included the Regional MTN Nigeria ltd located at Maitama District of the town, MTN offices in Kubwa, Wise, and Gwagwalada amongst others
Also, the popular Shoprite outlets at Wise zone 4, 5, Airport road/Lugbe, Jabi, Apo, were shut down for the fear of possible attack.

However, the giant mast of the MTN located along Abacha Road, in Mararaba, a suburb of Abuja has been brought down by unknown people as of this morning
It was gathered that as part of security measures, the Commissioner of Police in Charge of the FCT Police Command, CP Bala Ciroma has ordered massive development of police personnel within the Command and to keep watch over the affected business outfits.
A Senior Police officer who spoke with the Tribune Online in confidence said that the action became necessary so as not to be caught unaware.
