The remains of late Mrs Elizabeth Obianuju Ndubuisi-Chukwu have been laid to rest at her Country home Ihiala, in Ihiala local council area of Anambra State on Friday evening.
Nigerian Tribune report that the fifty-three-year-old late Mrs Ndubisi-Chukwu was murdered in South Africa, where she, alongside other members of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria went for a conference.
Late Mrs Ndubisi-Chukwu till death was the Deputy Director-General of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.
Her burial rites began with a service at St Silas Anglican Cathedral Ihiala, officiated by the Bishop of the Diocese, Right Reverend Professor Israel Okoye.
In a sermon, the Right Reverend Professor Okoye who described the deceased as a devout Christian urged the living to always be at right with God as no one knows when the end will come.
The Bishop advised those she left behind to have consolation and trust in God for justice and reminded that the only son of the deceased is now their responsibility.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment Mr C Don Adinuba who is a native of the town, on behalf of Anambra state government, described the situation as sad, and a huge loss to Ndi Anambra and Nigeria at large, especially when the deceased had climbed to the peak of her career.
Mr Adinuba while commiserating with the family, prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss, and promised that Anambra state government will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the killers of late Obianuju are fished out and punished accordingly.
An elder brother of the deceased, Dr Chiedu Ndubisi, appreciated all who rallied round them during their trying times, and prayed for the repose of the soul of her sister.
Our correspondent report that condolence visit by family members, friends and well-wishers commenced soon after the interment.
