As Nigerians mark the Workers’ Day nationwide today, the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), has tackled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration over the current fuel scarcity ravaging the land, saying that there was no tenable excuse for the citizens to be “suffering to get something that God has given us in natural abundance.”
CUPP gave this position in a release issued by its spokesperson, Comrade Mark Adebayo, copy of which was made available to newsmen on Wednesday, noting sadly that the suffering in the land was too much, occasioned by what it termed the current administration’s “incompetence and wicked application of neo-liberal policies that only cater to the needs of the rich and powerful in the country.”
The coalition observed that since May 29, 2023 that President Tinubu’s administration took over the reins of power, its biggest achievements had been to increase the economic hardship of the people exponentially, with insecurity gotten out hand job while business losses were in their thousands on a daily basis, among others, declaring that nobody should be under any illusion that the suffering in the land which was on the high side would reduce in spite of government propaganda.

The coalition, while congratulating Nigerian workers on the occasion of Workers’ Day, equally commiserated with them and regular Nigerians on what it described as the untold hardships that the All Progressives Congress (APC) – led government was inflicting on all the citizens Nigerians.
“For instance, look at the current fuel scarcity and how Nigerians are suffering to get something that God has given us in natural abundance. There is no tenable excuse for the current fuel scarcity.
“The Tinubu presidency is unprecedented in its level of falsehood, incompetence and wicked application of neo-liberal policies that only cater to the needs of the rich and powerful in the country.
Since May 29th that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took the reins of power last year from the very first minute, his biggest achievements have been to increase the economic hardship of the people exponentially, insecurity has gotten out hand as our children are no longer safe in their schools anymore, job and business losses are in their thousands on a daily basis, unbearable costs of living and gross mismanagement of our sociopolitical affairs, inter alia.
“The suffering in the land is too much and nobody should be under any illusion that it would reduce in spite of government propaganda. This government has nothing good to offer the Nigerian worker except empty promises and heavier loads of hardship,” CUPP stated.
“While we say happy workers’ day, we equally commiserate with the Nigerian workers and regular Nigerians on the untold hardships that this APC government is inflicting on all Nigerians,” the coalition added.
The body, however, vowed that the struggle continues, promising never to relent in the strive to free Nigerians from the hands of those it said their primary aim of being in government was strictly to satisfy their most wanton appetite at the expense of the Nigerian people.
“But we must never relent in the struggle to free Nigerians from the hands of those whose primary aim of being in government is strictly to satisfy their most wanton appetite at the expense of the Nigerian people. “Aluta continua, victoria ã certa,” CUPP vowed.
