The League of Women Voters of Nigeria (NILOWV) announced that it has completed all arrangements to host its National Extraordinary Annual General Meeting, which will focus on reviewing interventions, action plans, and agenda-setting for the organisation.
The meeting, which is the largest gathering of NILOWV members and executives from across the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will feature a series of activities, including lectures, and is scheduled to take place from November 5–6, 2024, in Abuja.
In a statement signed by the President of NILOWV, Hon. Irene Awunah Ikyegh, on behalf of the organisation in Abuja on Monday, it was noted that the meeting will focus on reviewing interventions, action plans, and agenda-setting for the organisation.
The statement also noted that the meeting will be attended by relevant stakeholders and key members of women-led organisations to discuss pressing issues in national discourse, particularly as they affect women and elections.
The AGM will feature keynote addresses by renowned speakers, panel discussions on key issues affecting women and girls, as well as workshops and training sessions.
The event will also include elections, the induction of new executive committee members, and opportunities for networking.
“This meeting will be a milestone event that will set the agenda towards the year 2025 and will also mark the official launch of the organisation’s scorecard for the 2024 year, which is also her first year in office.
“We invite all members, partners, and stakeholders to join us in Abuja as we chart a new course for NILOWV. Together, we can create a brighter future for Nigerian women and girls,” the statement added.
