Women are not as corrupt as men — Peter Obi

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, says women are generally less corrupt than men, attributing this to their role in families and commitment to societal progress.

In the latest episode of the Honest Bunch Podcast, Obi remarked that women’s involvement in governance often brings higher integrity and dedication.

Reflecting on his tenure as governor of Anambra State, Obi highlighted his reliance on women in key positions.

He said his administration included several women in significant roles, from Chief of Staff to commissioners.

He said, “Women are less corrupt. They are not as corrupt as men, and because they have families, they are more determined to see things work.

“People know that when I was a governor, my Chief of Staff was a woman, my Commissioner for Education was a woman, and my Commissioner for Planning was also a woman.”

During the podcast, Obi also suggested replacing church night vigils with night shifts to boost productivity across Nigeria.

He explained that excessive time is dedicated to religious gatherings, which could be better spent on productive activities contributing to the nation’s growth.
