Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has expressed profound appreciation to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for partnering with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in providing essential relief materials to Nigerian women, families, and vulnerable groups across the 774 Local Government Areas of the country.

Through this partnership, fabrics, rice, and other vital items are being distributed nationwide to bring succour and hope to women and households in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the supportive vision of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The first state to benefit from this intervention was Benue, where over 400 bags of rice, 20 bales of Ankara fabrics, and 10 bales of multipurpose clothing were shared with women and families.

The Minister, today, Tuesday, is in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to replicate the exercise with the distribution of over 100 bags of rice and five bales of Ankara fabrics to women in the state.

The Minister commended the Comptroller General of Customs, CG Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and his team for their invaluable support, noting that their action demonstrates genuine love and commitment to the welfare of Nigerian women and families.

“This gesture is a clear reflection of the Customs Service’s alignment with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and a demonstration of compassion for the needs of our women, children, and the vulnerable. On behalf of Nigerian women, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Comptroller General and his team for standing with us in this journey of uplifting lives and building stronger families,” she said.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that women in all parts of the country benefit from this laudable partnership, as the distribution exercise continues across other states in the coming weeks.
