Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths Council Worldwide has called for caution on political developments in Imo State, while it urged Governor Emeka Ihedioha to “immediately withdraw” an arrest order issued against the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
The Youth Council made the call in a statement signed and made available to journalists by its President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
According to the youths who vowed not to allow any South-East state to be under control of a sole administrator in the State of Emergency, described the prompt invitation as anarchy capable of truncating the democratic government of Governor Ihedioha.

The youths urged the governor to immediately reverse the pronouncement against Okorocha and also suspend the activities of Jasper Ndubuka Committee on recovery government assets until the situation is under control.
The group also charged Senator Okorocha to stay away from Imo State at the moment until the dust settles down.
The statement reads: “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide call for caution over the pronouncement of an immediate arrest and mob action against Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha by Imo State government as a prompt invitation to anarchy capable of truncating the democratic government of Governor Ihedioha and replace it with a new sole administrator under a State of Emergency if the pronouncement of Okorocha’s arrest order is not reverse immediately.
“We envisage that such a ‘citizen’s arrest’ order this time is a bad one as the governor is planning to celebrate his first 100 days in office irrespective of that, we condemn the assault on the Imo Chairman on Asset Recovery Committee, Hon Jasper Ndubuka, by thugs allegedly working for Senator Okorocha, but we call on immediate intervention of the South-East governors and Igbo leaders as we ask Imo State religious leaders, traditional rulers, State House of Assembly to join Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide to interface with Governor Ihedioha and Senator Okorocha, and urge Imolites, especially the youths to suspend any action pending on the outcome of the peace parley with the duo.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide beg Senator Okorocha to stay away from the state at the moment until the dust settles down, we believe that Governor Ihedioha will see the wisdom and rescind his decision to arrest Okorocha, as we urge him to suspend the activities of Jasper Ndubuka committee on recovery government assets until the situation is under control, We will not allow any South-East State to be under control of a sole administrator under the State of Emergency.”
