The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has congratulated the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, on the tribunal judgment affirming his victory in last September’s governorship election in the state.

Wike, who urged the governor to remain focused, advised Okpebholo to avoid distractions from those “who are only interested in getting power through the back door.”

In a statement on Wednesday, issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the FCT Minister described the victory as further confirmation of the mandate freely given to the governor by the people of Edo State.

He said the victory belonged to the people of Edo State, who elected Governor Okpebholo, urging him to show greater commitment to serving them.

Expressing confidence in Okpebholo’s ability to bring relief to the people of Edo State, Wike said, “I believe in him, and with the way he has started, I am confident that his government will positively impact Edo State and its people.”
