Why will you vote or not vote for President Bola Tinubu in 2027?

As politics of 2027 heats up, politicians and their handlers are scheming to take or retain power. In light of this, one of the biggest questions on the lips of most Nigerians, given the recent situation of the country, is: Will I vote or not vote President Tinubu in 2027? KINGSLEY ALUMONA presents responses from some Nigerians on this issue. Their views:

Teekay Nation

I rate his two-year regime so far as the worst government ever in Nigeria. If you check, the rate of unemployment in Nigeria is getting higher every day, and his policy is only in favour of Western Nigerians, and Nigeria is a country which is recognised with three majority tribes. For me, I am not voting him in 2027.

Tinubu does not have what it takes to revamp the dying economy he inherited from Buhari. All he could do was to add fuel to the already burning flame, and does not care about the suffering of the citizens. He is the second worst president after Abacha. I cannot vote such a man. Though he does not care about my vote, because votes do not count in this country.

Akinkunmi Kameel

I would vote for him again. Two years cannot be the measurement for one success in office. He has performed in some areas while he has not done anything in some sectors. However, allowing him to finish his tenure would not be a bad idea. Some messiahs could not develop their states of origin. We know them. They are religious war leaders. Tinubu will do better.

Peter Chiabua

Tinubu has failed. There are lots of deaths as a result of hunger, lots of killings as a result of insecurity and promises unkept. He appears to be making more money for governors to pocket. Most useless government if you ask me.

Safiriyu Kabiru

Tinubu is thinking about the future while most Nigerians are thinking about today. If you could think logically and critically, you would understand the wonderful mission of this political wizard. He is a great son of Africa. I would vote him because of my future.

Hakeem Abiodun

I did not vote for him in the first instance and still do not have any reason to vote for him again. Before he was elected, I told my people that if he won, the judiciary would be in trouble. I believe you all see what our judicial system has turned into. If he is reelected, then expect more hardship. Toll gates will definitely resurface in all Nigerian roads.

Sweet Ice

There are more poor people in the country than during the regime of former President Buhari. No food, no roads, no electricity, no medical care. Imagine a 700km road construction when people are dying on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Why should he ban Eedris Abdulkarim’s song? Loans here and there. No help for farmers and teachers.

James Banks

If 2027 is between Tinubu and moimoi, I would vote for moimoi without hesitation. His aversion to the existence of opposition, coupled with the policies of envy and the weaponisation of poverty he is promoting are enough for me to keep him at arm’s length.

Dada Adewale

I would vote President Tinubu again because he is the most genuine leader we have had who is sincerely tackling Nigerian problems. He revamped the moribund refineries, when all hope had been lost on them. Then, the NELFund student loans. He reduced our debt to the IMF, improved revenue to boost infrastructure and human capital development by all tiers of government. There are also landmark road constructions ongoing across the country, among other things.

Abdullai mumud

I would vote Tinubu because he is the best man with the required skill and team to move Nigeria to our promise land.

Onoriode Nelson

The way that they got into power is not credible, they make public office their birthright to claim from the ruled when it should be seen as a responsibility to be accountable to the ruled.

Muideen Akanbi

The truth of the matter is that we cannot continue to borrow money to pay fuel subsidy and the salaries of workers, and borrow money to convert dollar to naira. Let us use our economic policy to bring this country back. We should stop saying something bad about our country.

Gbade Adedeji

I would not vote for him because of insecurity and the government’s attitude towards what is happening in the country. I would vote for him if, between now and 2027, things change, at least 60 percent better than today’s brouhaha.

Austin Onuoha

Voting for Tinubu in 2027 is akin to taking Nigeria to the worst dictatorship and anarchy. Tinubu-led government is worse than the worst military government in the country. Lawlessness, insecurity, poverty, hardship, and criminality are elevated to the highest level under his government.
