Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has explained why President Bola Tinubu will face no opposition from governors in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Monday at a two-day interactive session on government-citizen engagement organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) in Kaduna, Sani praised Tinubu’s leadership style, noting that no previous Nigerian president has shown such consistent support for governors.
He said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been very supportive of governors and state governments.

“No president in Nigeria’s history has extended this level of cooperation and encouragement to sub-national leaders. Because of this, it is highly unlikely that any governor will oppose his re-election in 2027.”
Sani noted that the Tinubu’s administration’s willingness to engage non-state actors in addressing national issues marks a significant shift in governance.
“For the first time, government is holding direct conversations with non-state actors to review progress and tackle challenges, particularly in northern Nigeria. This shows a new and inclusive approach to governance,” the governor said.
