Why I’m insisting on DNA test for Mohbad’s son — Aloba

Mohbad’s father, Aloba, has finally spoken on the controversy surrounding his persistent call for a DNA test to be conducted on his late son’s child, Liam.

He revealed that his insistence is not borne out of malice but a desire to secure the child’s future from ridicule and suspicion.

According to him, the major reason behind his request is to protect Liam from possible accusations or bullying later in life. He stressed that nobody can predict the heights the boy might attain in the future, hence it is important to clear any doubts about his paternity now.

“I want to wash Liam clean of any accusation or bullying from people in the future,” he said. “Nobody knows the position he will attain in life tomorrow. It is better to settle this issue once and for all so that he can grow up without people questioning his identity.”

He further explained that his happiness would be complete if the DNA test confirms that Liam is indeed Mohbad’s biological son. In his words, such a revelation would mean that despite the tragedy of his son’s passing, he left behind a grandchild for him.

“I will be extremely happy if the DNA test reveals he is Mohbad’s son,” he stated firmly. “It means my son left a grandchild for me, something that would be a source of joy and comfort in my old age.”

The grieving father added that his request should not be seen as a sign of distrust but as an attempt to preserve dignity and clarity. He emphasized that it is always better to confront sensitive issues directly rather than allow them to linger as rumors.

In expressing his cultural beliefs, he quoted a Yoruba proverb: “Nkan eni o ki n di meji ki inu o bini,” meaning nobody should be angry when fortune presents a double blessing. He noted that he sees no harm in seeking the truth, as it would bring peace to all parties involved.

He maintained that his request should not be twisted into unnecessary controversy, stressing that he loves Liam dearly regardless of the outcome of the test. However, he wants to ensure that the boy grows up with an unquestionable identity.

The father insisted that the matter is bigger than emotions, as it touches on the legacy of his late son. According to him, Mohbad deserves to be remembered with clarity, and Liam deserves to live free from any shadow of doubt.
