Nollywood actor Stan Nze has made it clear that he will never put his life on the line just to interpret a movie role, insisting that such an act would be nothing short of foolishness.
Speaking on why he won’t risk his life to bring any role to life, “Why would I?” he responded firmly.
Stan explained that the movie industry already has professional stunt actors who are highly skilled and well-paid to handle risky performances. According to him, it makes no sense for an actor to jeopardize his life when there are experts trained to do such work safely.
“I have done films where characters jump, but those scenes are done by stunt guys—it is their job,” he said. “We have stunt actors who get well paid to do their thing. They have the experience, the knowledge of how to jump and whatever else they need to do.”
The actor stressed that it would be “stupidity” to sacrifice one’s life just for applause or recognition, noting that the reward is never worth the cost.
“I’m not going to be foolish and say, because I want to be the best actor in Africa, I’ll jump down and then people go do one minute of silence and move on. It’s stupidity,” he said. “I’m going to be alive, get the right training, and do the stunts I am meant to do, while stuntmen do their job.”
Beyond his stance on acting, Stan also spoke about the importance of spirituality in his personal life.
According to him, his walk with God is central to everything he does, both as an individual and as an entertainer.
“I think it is very important, and you don’t need to wait for things to happen before you connect with God—it’s part of daily life,” he said.
He likened life without God to living without direction, saying that without the Creator, one cannot fully understand the “manual of life.”
“It’s like living a wasteful life,” he explained. “And I’m not saying you have to be a regular churchgoer, but you can’t make an impact without the Creator.”
