Nigerian singer Omah Stanley Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has opened up about friendships and attitudes in the country’s music industry, saying many people in the space have strong egos.
The singer spoke during a recent appearance on the Nando Leaks podcast, where he discussed his personality and how it shapes his relationships with others.
According to Omah Lay, he does not rely on validation from people around him and prefers to keep a small circle of friends who understand his mindset and goals.

He explained that he is not someone who likes to mix with many people and instead, chooses to stay close to people who are willing to understand his world.
While describing himself as calm, he admitted that he also has a strong sense of self, which can make it difficult for him to build friendships.
He added that this attitude is not limited to him, noting that many people in the Nigerian music industry also carry pride.
He said: “I have a very weird personality, I believe I am just that guy, so I don’t have a lot of friends. I don’t talk to a lot of people, just very few people and those people are people who try to come into my world and understand where I am going.
“The Nigerian music scene is full of egos. I am a chill guy but I have too much ego. It is hard to make friends like that.”
