Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, often referred to as the “Father of Nigerian stand-up Comedy,” was recognised for his pivotal role in elevating stand-up comedy into a respected and lucrative profession in Nigeria. Since starting his career in the early 1990s, Ali Baba has inspired generations of comedians, helping to shape an industry that now thrives both locally and internationally.
The event was marked by heartfelt tributes from colleagues, fans, and admirers who praised Ali Baba’s wit, creativity, and resilience.
